On April 07th/08th, 2011, recertification for BRC took place in our house. The audit procedure was extremely positive and, as a result, the certificate could be renewed for another year.
| folian is "Top Training Company 2010“ On March 24th, 2011, the Mecklenburg-Pomeranian Minister of Economics, Labour and Tourism, Jürgen Seidel, and the President of Rostock Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Wolfgang Hering, awarded sixtysix companies with the title "TOP Traning Company 2010" at the Nikolai Church in Rostock. For the first time this year, folian received this award for high quality, creativity and continuity regarding training and commitment in the field of early job orientation. |

Nomination for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises 2011"
In February 2011, folian was nominated in the annual nationwide competition "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises 2011" for the "Premier“. The "Premier“ is the highest award given under strict criteria for selection by the "Oskar-Patzelt Foundation" to last years' prize-winners for an extremely positive development. The companies are assessed as a whole and by their role in society. Excellent overall development, providing and securing jobs, updating and innovations, market performance and commitment in the region as well as service and customer orientation. What is so special about it is the fact that so far no company of Mecklenburg-Pomerania has been nominated for "Premier“. The honouring of the prize winners and finalists will take place by the Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation in September.
folian sponsors the Children-Laboratory at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences
folian gmbh has decided to financially support another project in addition to the playing card factory: Since January 2011, once a month the laboratory for children at the age of four to seven has taken place at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences. Scientists of the university impart the theoretical basics of energy. By fascinating experiments, the children – assisted by students of Stralsund University of Applied Sciences – get to the bottom of the topic energy: Where does energy come from? What forms of energy do exist? How can I myself produce energy? – Questions which are jointly dealt with.
Recertification for ISO 9001:2008
On October 11th, 2010, recertification for ISO 9001:2008 took place in our house. The audit took a very good course. The certificate could be renewed for further 3 years.
Photographic competition
15th job information fair at Stralsund BIZ

On October 10th, 2010, from 3 to 6 pm, the job information fair at Stralsund BIZ took place. Under the motto "Jobs live“, many companies and institutions presented themselves, their training programs and ranges of courses. Many young persons used the opportunity and got informed about the possibilities and fields of trainings or studies. For the first time, folian gmbh was also represented with a small stand. Susann Prey, our colleague in charge of trainings, and Katrin Medrow, trainee at the flexographic printing department (in the third year of her apprenticeship) talked to many people interested and had the chance of successfully presenting the rather unknown profession of a flexographic printer. But also those people interested in apprenticeships for industrial clerks and skilled workers for stock logistics which folian keeps on offering were fully satisfied. |
folian gmbH on n-tv
In the 45th calendar week, the topic "success, facts and trends" was in the centre of a special series about the Fachpack 2010 in Nuremberg on the news station n-tv. Every day, directly before the news at 9 pm, the station presented successful companies and success stories. folian gmbh too was paid a visit by n-tv and was presented in a short spot on November 10th, 2010.

Tour of the company with the Society for Promoting School and Enterprises Mecklenburg-Pomerania
On September 15th, 2010, a tour of the company with the Society for Promoting School and Enterprises Mecklenburg-Pomerania took place. In this society, representatives from school, enterprises and chambers as well as parents organize various actions to enhance early job orientation and placing apprenticeships. The objective is a closer cooperation between school and enterprises in order to exhaust the potentials of trainees and apprenticeships even better. As folian is strongly involved in young people's training, we take a leading position.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce has nominated folian for "Premier“. On April 12th/13th, 2010, recertification for BRC took place in our house. The audit procedure was extremely positive and, as a result, the certificate could be renewed for another year.
Girls Day 2010
For the first time, folian participated in the "Girls' Day" on April 22nd, 2010 (www.girls-day.de). This is a nationwide established girls' day of the future in order to make young ladies familiar with technical and scientific job profiles. For a whole day, three girls had the chance to look over the folians' shoulders and, here and there, to lend a hand themselves.
FachPack 2010
For the third time, folian gmbh was represented with a stand of their own at FachPack, the international specialist fair for packing solutions in Nuremberg (Halle 7; Stand 7-522) from September 28th to 30th, 2010.
Recertification BRC
On April 08th /09th, 2009 recertification for BRC took place in our house. The audit procedure was extremely positive and, as a result, the certificate could be renewed for another year.
Exhibiting at the InterMopro 2008
From 28.09. - 01.10.2008 folian gmbh was the first time at the InterMopro, the international trade fair for dairy products, in Dusseldorf with its own stand. The exhibition was a success. Many existing customers have expanded in the personal interview as well as new contacts that have grown to a successful co-operation.

Visit by the Federal Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel
On December 7th, 2007 the Federal Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel spent a visit to folian gmbh. After a conversation with the management, Dr Merkel took a tour of the different departments including the production. Doing so she made the employees explain her the working processes and asked about their jobs and how they were. At the concluding press conference, Dr Angela Merkel mentioned that she was fascinated by the precision requirements.
BRC-Certification
On October 10 th /12 th, 2007, the first BRC-certifcation of folian gmbh took place and was completed successfully. We are glad that we have received such an important certificateand, as a result, are able to guarantee our customers a high hygiene standard.
Award as One of the Prizewinners in the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises"
On September 15 th, 2007 the presentation of the "Grand Prix of Small and Middle-Sized Enterprises 2007" took place at the Maritim Hotel in Bremen. There are 3.5 Million small and middle-sized enterprises in Germany and only 50 of them become winners nationwide i.e. only every seventy thousandth enterprise is awarded. In 2007, folian gmbh was one of the lucky winners and received a certificate as well as the coveted statute.
Nomination for the Print & Media Award 2007

On July 12th, 2007 folian gmbh received the pleasing news that the company had been nominated for the "Print & Media Award“ in the category "Packaging Printer of the Year". Nomination for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises 2007“
On February 9 th, 2007 folian gmbh received the good news that also that year, the company had been nominated to take part in the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises". As one of 807 enterprises altogether, folian gmbh had complied with the criteria and thus achieved the second level of the competition for the title of prizewinner 2007. That is why on May 16th, 2007 the company received a certificate.
Nomination for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" 2006
In 2006 too, folian gmbh is nominated for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" of the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation. Besides folian gmbh, 803 out of 2,788 enterprises altogether achieve the second level. The presentation for Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Hamburg and Bremen takes place in Magdeburg on September 23rd, 2006.
Award as a finalist in the " Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" 2005
In a ceremony in the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin on October 29th, 2005, folian gmbh is awarded by Leipzig Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung as a "finalist" in the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises". Criteria for the award are primarily the company's general development as well as its provision and securing of workplaces. Further assessment components are the innovations, the service and the closeness to the customer.

In that year, folian gmbh is nominated – besides 2,519 further companies – for the "Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" of the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation. As one of only 569 companies altogether, folian gmbh complies with the prize criteria and achieves the second level of the competition. The presentation for Berlin/Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania takes place in Berlin on October 29th, 2005.
A new printing machine begins to operate (December 2004)
Finally, on December 29th, 2004, a new 10-colour-printing machine begins to operate at folian gmbh. Besides a computer-controlled reel slitting machine and a new storage building, it is one of the new investments for the financial year 2004.

For the tenth time, under the patronage of the Federal minister of trade, commerce and labour, Wolfgang Clement, the Economic-Oskar is awarded. folian is nominated.
folian receives the "OPPack Award“ (November 2003)
Every month, ExxonMobil gives three OPPack Awards out of various submissions. Together with Wurzener Nahrungsmittel GmbH, folian has qualified for the award August 2003. At the beginning of November 2003, the award is handed over in Wurzen. It is the produce "Kuko Reis“ consisting of a triple compound that is awarded.
Winner of the first "New Business Founder Award" (October. 2003)
The "New Business Founder Award" of the newspaper "Ostseezeitung" the patronage over which has been taken on by the Federal minister of transport is offered in June 2003. It is intended for young and successful enterprises. The prize is endowed with EUR 5,000. In the presence of high-ranking personalities of politics and trade and commerce, folian gmbh receives the award in Rostock on October 29th, 2003.
Founder champion Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (May 2003)
Under the patronage of the Federal chancellor Gerhard Schröder, the jury has chosen a champion from every Federal state. It is folian gmbh which wins for Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and is awarded in Berlin on May 16th, 2003.

Since 1994, authorities, institutions, chambers, companies and citizens have nominated excellent small and medium-sized enterprises for the "Oskar for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises". The initiative is sponsored by the Leipzig based OSKAR Foundation together with the regional associations of the Federal Association Small and Medium-Sized Trade and Commerce, the Association of Self-Employed / German Trade and Industry Association, the European Association of Self-Employed, the Rationalization Committee of German Trade and Commerce, entrepreneur associations, chambers, regional councils, municipalities in cooperation with ministries, institutions and media.
Objectives are the promotion of a new culture of self-employment, the popularization of problem solutions and the successes of committed business personalities, the promotion of due respect to entrepreneurial responsibility, diligence and inventiveness, the promotion of initiatives for supporting the small and medium-sized enterprises in trade, industry and service, the strengthening of representations and organisations of the middle-class, the realization of the necessary basic conditions for a healthy development of trade and commerce as well as the public's sensitization for the connection between "healthy middle-class – strong trade and commerce – more workplaces".
